A GLENROTHES woman told the Gazette about her lucky escape as her house collapsed during last week’s earthquake in New Zealand.

Michelle Innes, (25), from the Newcastle area of the town, re-lived her experience.

She said: “I was right in the centre of Christchurch. One hundred yards from Latimer Square.

“It was very scary.

“My house was completely destroyed.

“We have had to up-sticks and move to Wellington.

“I was in the house when it hit.

“By the time we got out and round the front of the building, it imploded.”
