Glenrothes police appeal over indecent act

Police in Glenrothes are searching for the male driver of a red car after he committed an indecent act towards a woman walking alone in the town’s Scott Road.

The incident happened during the late evening of Friday, August 16 and police officers are particularly keen to speak to an elderly man walking his dogs in the area who may have been a witness.

Detective Sergeant Stewart Andrew, who is leading the investigation, said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area during the evening of Friday, August 16, or who has previously seen a similar car in the Scott Road area, to report any sightings to the police.

“In particular, I am keen to identify an elderly man who was seen walking his two dogs at the play park on Scott Road at this time and may have witnessed the incident.

“It is of paramount importance that we identify the driver of this car and I would appeal to anyone who has information regarding it or the driver to contact the police, in strict confidence, by calling 101 or alternatively passing the information anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
