St Andrews is set to be thrust even further into the global spotlight thanks to a major international photography competition, jointly organised by The Macallan Single Malt and VisitScotland.
After scooping first prize of a 10-day road trip around Scotland in The Macallan Masters of Photography competition, snapper Luke Bhothipithi will post stunning pictures of St Andrews on The Macallan blog - which can be viewed online by a global audience of nearly 100,000.
The 28-year-old, from Florida, beat more than 7000 other entrants to win the once-in-a-lifetime prize. His outstanding photograph, ‘Waiting for the Eclipse,’ was judged by world-famous Scottish photographer Albert Watson, whose images have graced the covers of both Vogue and Rolling Stone magazines and now a limited-edition bottling of The Macallan 20 years old.
As part of their Scottish roadtrip, Luke and his girlfriend, Lauren, will stay at Easter Kincaple near St Andrews.
They will also visit Edinburgh, Culloden House in Inverness, Ross-shire, Renfrewshire, Dornoch Castle and The Macallan Distillery on Easter Elchies Estate in Speyside.
The pair will set off for Scotland tomorrow (Saturday) and stay until Tuesday, March 27.
