BOMB disposal experts were called to an address in Dallas Drive in Kirkcaldy on Sunday night.
Police were called to the address at around 10.00 p.m. after being contacted by a member of the public about a grenade which had been found in local woods using a metal detector.
A police spokesman said: “Officers were called to an address in Kirkcaldy and there was a grenade.
“It wasn’t live, it had the pin missing.
“There was no risk at any time.
“As a precaution the bomb disposal team were called and confirmed it was safe and removed the grenade.”
