Two local groups have received grants from the Big Lottery’s 2014 Communities programme.

Buckhaven High School has been awarded £2,000 to buy mountain bikes and helmets for cycling classes, while Fife Athletic Club has been given a similar amount to stock training venues with equipment.

Local MP Lindsay Roy said:, ‘’I congratulate both organisations on their successful applications and I am sure they will put the money to the best possible use.’’

The 2014 Communities programme, which offered grants of up to £2000 to support and stimulate grass roots involvement in sports and physical activity, is now closed to new applications.

However, Awards For All Scotland is still giving groups a chance to apply for a grant of between £500 and £10,000 for projects that aim to help improve local communities and the lives of people most in need.
