Employees at the Quaker Oats factory in the outskirts of Cupar are aiming to help bring some winter warmth to people who may be struggling on a low income.

Staff at the porridge factory recently donated 100 winter coats to Cupar foodbank.

Foodbank manager Fiona Findlay said: “We have been busy recently distributing our food hampers and toys but our work is not yet complete this festive season – Quaker Oats staff have donated 100 winter coats for distribution through the foodbank.

“It’s great people realise that, as well as food, many people are stuggling to pay for essentials like warm clothing.

“Any families or individuals in need of a warm winter coat should call at the foodbank from January 5, when we will be giving out coats.”

In case of any families requiring emergency food over the festive period, hampers are available from all the Cupar churches.

A notice with contact numbers is posted at the foodbank, Fife Voluntary Action and CARF.
