A LEVEN Health Centre worker has been recognised by the Fife Medical Committee.
Tracy Campbell, practice manager to Dr Douglas Ross and Partners, was given the David Adams Award for Excellence as a tribute to the enormous amount of work she has undertaken.
Set up to commemorate Mr Adams, a former GP in Auchtermuchty and secretary of the Fife Medical Committee who died in 2001, it recognises the contribution of staff in GP practices across Fife.
Nominating her for the award, the practice partners highlighted Ms Campbell’s ability to deal with difficult situations and her efforts to ensure the smooth change over to a new practice computer system.
They added: “Tracy is extremely good with patients, she gets everything done with great speed and efficiency.”
The judging panel, which included Dr Howard Stevens, treasurer of the Fife Local Medical Committee, was impressed with Ms Campbell’s “obvious dedication” to her job and the practice which went beyond what is expected of a practice manager.
Dr Stevens added: “It is once again a great privilege to be able to reward outstanding commitment to patients in Fife and to recognise the commitment of staff to the smooth running of local general practice.
“Tracy is a worthy winner of this year’s David Adams Award for Excellence.”
