People living in Kinross-shire are being invited to take part in a home composting project.

The project is open to householders in the county who don’t receive the brown-lidded bin service for food and waste.

Developed through a partnership between Perth & Kinross Council, Milnathort in Bloom, a local Zero Waste volunteer and the Federation of City Farms & Community Gardens, the project offers participating residents the opportunity to receive a free home composter, a range of which are available, and a kitchen caddy in which to collect food waste. As part of the project, advice and support will also be available via a series of workshops run by a local Zero Waste volunteer, who can help advise which style of composter is best suited to the householder’s needs and lifestyle, and also answer any queries.
