Housing plan submitted for former pub site in Leven

The former Silver Tassie site in Leven could look very different by 2017, after a Fife developer submitted plans for affordable housing.

The former pub site, which was gutted by fire in 2011, has been one of contention for local residents concerned that nothing would be done with the land.

Now developer Campion Homes, working with Kingdom Housing Association, has submitted an application for full planning permission after buying the site from EQ Melville Properties earlier this year with planning permission in principle already granted.

The plans detail six two-bedroom affordable flats, with car parking space for 10 vehicles and associated landscaping.

A spokesman for Campion Homes commented: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Kingdom Housing Association and have submitted a planning application to provide six flats for affordable rent.

“The Levenmouth area is in need of this property tenure and the new development will tidy up what has been an eyesore in the community for many years.

“If the application is successful we hope to commence late summer and have the properties ready for occupation in early 2017.”
