How well is your landlord performing?

There are 38,900 households living in social rented accommodation in the area – and there are now 2016 Landlord Reports available for all their housing providers.

Fife Council is the biggest social housing landlord in the the Kingdom, providing around 30,000 homes.

According to its report, 80.7 per cent of its tenants are satisfied with its overall service, below the Scottish average of 89 per cent.

But 98.6 per cent of its homes meet the Scottish Housing Quality Standard (SHQS), above the Scottish average of 92.8 per cent.

The landlord reports are designed to help tenants hold their landlords to account.

The regulator has published separate landlord reports for each of the nation’s social landlords.

And its website has an award-winning interactive online comparison tool to help tenants compare how their landlord has done.

Tenants can review performance against a national average and against other landlords.

Kay Blair, who chairs the Scottish Housing Regulator, said: “Our landlord reports let thousands of tenants across Scotland find out how their own landlord performed and compare that performance against other landlords.

“Tenants have told us they are a useful and accessible way to find out about their landlord’s performance when it comes to the things that matter most to them.

“On a national level, the overall picture for Scottish social landlords is one of continued strong performance.

“Underneath the national picture, of course, performance varies and some landlords have more work to do than others to improve.”

Kingdom Housing Association, which has around 3500 homes, has an overall satisfaction rate of 87.9 per cent, with 89.8 per cent of its properties meeting the SHQS.

Fife Housing Association, again with around 2500 homes, has a satisfaction rating of 80.1 per cent, while 87.5 per cent of its homes meet the SHQS.
