Iona gets a trim for charity

Iona Green decided to have her hair turned into a wig after learning of the work that the Little Princess trust does.

The trust provides real hair wigs free of charge to children and young adults up to the age of 24 across the UK who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.

It also assists other children who have other conditions which can result in hair loss, the most common being alopecia.

Iona’s parents, who run the Lomond Tavern in Falkland, said they were surprised by her commitment to helping the charity.

Her mum, Eilidh, said: “For someone so young, she was determined to donate her hair to the benefit of others and is excited at the thought of sick children being able to benefit from her hair being made into wigs.

“I’d like to publicly thank all those who donated and also Kirsty Stewart Hairdressers in Markinch.”

A JustGiving page was set up and the collections from this, as well as a donation box at the Lomond Tavern, have resulted in almost £1000 being donated to the charity.
