Fisher and Donaldson in Cupar; Mr C’s Pies, near Newburgh, and Hunters of Kinross are all in line for the most prestigious title in the pie world.
The trio have all been shortlisted in the The World Scotch Pie Championships and will find out if they’ve won the coveted award on January 15.
Now in its 16th year, the World Scotch Pie Championships provides butchers and bakers across Scotland with the opportunity to become recognised as producing the highest quality savoury products.
This year’s competition, run by Scottish Bakers and the Scottish Federation of Meat Traders, has beaten its own record, attracting over 100 professionals entering the highest ever number of products with some 600 individual items being professionally judged.
The judges were joined by small number of pie lovers for the tasting session at Carnegie Conference Centre in Dunfermline - including a special guest, Bay City Roller front-man Les McKeown.
