Jail for heroin haul

A GLENROTHES man found in possession of heroin with an estimated street value of £1,300 was told by the courts that a prison sentence was inevitable.

The comment was made by Sheriff Charles Macnair as Robert Sweeney (29) appeared on indictment.

Sweeney admitted that on July 27 last year, in Glenrothes, he was in possession of diamorphine with the intent to supply. Pleas of not guilty were accepted on other charges relating to possession, Sweeny was remanded in custody until March, 8.
