Jazzed up picnicking at the Botanics
Hundreds of people enjoyed the sun and some culture at St Andrews Botanic Garden, picnicking on Friday between a screening of Much Ado About Nothing from Shakespeare's Globe and an outstanding performance from Jacqui Dankworth and husband Charlie Wood.
For two hours the pair played music that went from Shakespeare to folk via some jazz standards and new arrangements of familiar tunes that demonstrated the full range of Dankworth’s stunning vocal range.
The Byre in the Botanics series of events continued with a performance by award-winning band Breabach with their own brand of contemporary folk music enjoyed by an enthusiastic audience who turned out despite the change in the weather.
