Kirkcaldy bank robbery features on Crimewatch Roadshow

Broadcast on BBC1 at 9.15am, the programme featured CCTV footage showing both suspects entering the TSB in Dunearn Drive on Friday, January 29, 2016, before making off on bikes with around £11,000.

They were spotted shortly afterwards cycling on Cawdor Crescent.

Detective Inspector Colin Robson of the Fife Division Crime Management unit, who is leading the investigation, said: “Hopefully by airing our appeal on national television we will get a vital piece of information that can lead us to these men.

“I believe the answer to who did this may lie in the local community and anyone who recognises these men or has information pertinent to our investigation should contact police on 101.

“Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

Those with information that might help detectives identify the suspects are asked to come forward.

The first male is described as white, in his late 20s or early 30s with dark stubble on his face.

At the time of this incident, he was wearing a dark coloured baseball cap and dark coloured clothing.

The second man is described as white, 5ft 9in tall, around 30-years-old, of medium build and with stubble.

He wore a dark coloured baseball cap, dark blue/grey hooded top and dark coloured trainers. He also wore dark blue jogging bottoms with a distinctive white coloured motif running partially down one leg.

Subsequent inquiries have established the jogging bottoms are made by Polish manufacturer Mordex – a brand associated with bodybuilding.

It is believed at least one of the men is Eastern European.
