Kirkcaldy man stalked ex-partner in hospital

A Kirkcaldy man with 'an appalling record' of offences against previous partners stalked a woman when she was in hospital.

It was not the first time Balbir Singh Jandu (54), of St Clair Street, had committed offences against previous partners.

Jandu was appearing for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

He admitted committing the offence between April 1 and 24 last year at Ravenscraig Ward, Whyteman’s Brae Hospital, Kirkcaldy.

He engaged in a course of conduct which caused fear and alarm to his former partner Isobel Louden or Gibson.

Jandu persistently attended the ward and approached or attempted to approach his ex-partner and repeatedly passed a note containing a phone number to other patients with the intention they would pass it on to her.

Sheriff Charles Macnair told Jandu: “You have an appalling record including offences against previous partners.

“In that regard the social work report makes very depressing reading.”

He imposed a community payback order with three years’ supervision.

Jandu was also made subject to a restriction of liberty order for 250 days.
