Kirkcaldy road crash cyclist dies

A cyclist left fighting for his life after a road crash in Kirkcaldy has died.

Gary Christie (38) from Cupar sustained serious injuries in the collision, which took place on Carberry Road on November 1.

The Press understands Mr Christie’s life support was switched off yesterday.

Police appealed for information from members of the public following the crash, which took place just before 7am.

The driver of the red Vauxhall Corsa involved in the incident was left unharmed.

Paramedics attended to Mr Christie and took him to Victoria Hospital where he was described to be in a critical but stable condition.

The Press understands he was then transferred to an Edinburgh hospital for specialist care.
