The Scottish SPCA is searching for the owner of a lame cat found in Glenrothes.

The black and white male cat was found in a garden in Cornhill Road by a member of the public.

He is now being cared for at the charity’s Edinburgh and Lothians Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre where staff have named him Felix.

Scottish SPCA Inspector Nicola Liddell said: “Local residents have seen the cat wandering around the area for a few weeks and the person who found him noticed he was lame and called our animal helpline.

“He has a wound on his front leg and is now receiving treatment for it.

“We’ve been unable to trace his owner as he wasn’t wearing a collar and he isn’t microchipped.

“He’s a friendly cat and we’d really like to reunite him with his owner if he has one.

“If we can’t find his owner then we’ll look for a loving new home for him.”
