Shutters ready to come down on Fife Free Press Group’s reader calendar competition
It’s time to close the shutters on the Fife Free Press Group’s 2015 calendar competition.
The response has been astonishing, with over 250 entries from every corner of the Kingdom.
But now comes the hard part of whittling down all these images to the 13 needed for the calendar.
So if you think you’ve snapped a memorable shot and would like to share it, you have until Sunday, May 25 to submit your entry.
After that it’s judging time and it is you, the readers, who will be doing that.
You’ll be asked to vote on the pictures you think best represent Fife.
After you’ve made your selection, we’ll go to print.
The aim is to bring out a top quality product and have it available to buy during the summer – allowing more visitors to take away a stunning souvenir of their stay in Fife... and a year-long reminder to come back.
The winning pictures will go on display at the newly-refurbished Dreel Halls in Anstruther from Friday, August 1 until Sunday, August 10 and then within the cafe at Kirkcaldy’s Adam Smith Theatre for a week from August 11.
Lindsey Alexander, the Fife Free Press Group’s head of features, has been particularly impressed by the standard of entries.
“We always knew there was a good number of really talented photographers among our readers,” she said.
“But not only has the standard been remarkably high, the number of entries has taken us all by surprise – it has been a fantastic response.
“It’s obvious our readers are very proud of Fife and we certainly have the material to do the Kingdom proud.
“The calendar has the potential to really spread the word, at home and abroad, about what a stunning place Fife is to visit.”
If you are still planning to enter, remember all entries must be of a location in Fife, though not necessarily taken in 2014.
All contributions should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org by Sunday, May 25.
