A Kirkcaldy girl has managed to raise over £400 for charity - all by getting her haircut.

Lauren Morris (12) a pupil at Balwearie High School, donated the money raised from her haircut to CHAS.

She wanted to help the children and their families who attend Rachel House in Kinross.

Hairdresser Amber from Migele Experience in Kirkcaldy kindly offered to cut eight inches off Lauren’s hair.

She has sent her chopped off locks to Little Princess Trust who make wigs for children who lose their hair during chemotherapy.

Lauren decided to do something to help both charities after hearing about a young girl she knew of who was sadly diagnosed with an inoperable cancer.

She said: “A few months ago, I decided that I wanted to cut my hair short and donate my hair to the The Little Princess’s Trust who use it to make wigs for children that lose their own hair after having chemotherapy for their cancer.”
