Six vulnerable families across Levenmouth will now enjoy a delicious Christmas dinner thanks to Taxi Centre and Sainsbury’s Leven.
The local taxi firm, based in Oswald Place in Leven, supports a number of local groups, including sponsorship of local junior football teams, and felt it was only right to continue supporting the community at Christmas.
Now thanks to their generosity, families in the Levenmouth area, identified by family-support charity Homestart Levenmouth, can now look forward to a special dinner this Christmas.
Murray Scott, manager at Taxi Centre, explained: “The company normally sends out Christmas cards , however we believed that rather than do it this year we would make a donation to a worthwhile cause. We know our customers will support us in this move.
“As a company we get a great deal of support from all sectors within the local community , and it is our belief that our company must play its part within the local community when it is in a position to do so.
“We take a great deal of pride knowing that our donation will make some family’s Christmas , especially the children, that little bit more special.”
Kay McLearly, senior coordinator at Homestart Levenmouth, said: “This generous gesture will ensure that the children and their parents have a magical day with a wonderful festive meal.
“Our thanks also to Donna Donnelly at Sainsbury’s for helping to organise all the hampers.”
Dave Benson, Sainsbury’s Leven deputy manager, said: “It is amazing to see the community come together like this to provide vulnerable families in Levenmouth with a special dinner to look forward to on Christmas Day.
“HomeStart Levenmouth do a fantastic job all year round, and we’re so glad Taxi Centre came to us to help make this possible - they have been incredibly generous.
“Everyone here at Sainsbury’s Leven hopes the families who are going to benefit from this donation have a wonderful Christmas.”
