Levenmouth band Break the Butterfly are hoping judges in a top competition will say ‘sí’ tonight (Wednesday) and put them through to the international final in Spain.
The five-piece’s indy rock style with an unashamed Scottish twist wowed the judges in the previous round of Hard Rock Rising and they are planning to give a top performance tonight in Glasgow’s Hard Rock Cafe.
Up for grabs is an all-expenses trip and place on the bill representing Scotland at the Hard Rock Rising Global Festival in Barcelona in July, when headliners will include Kings of Leon, Lenny Kravitz, Robbie Williams and Avicii. More than 85 Hard Rock cafes worldwide have been taking part in the competition.
“We’d originally just entered to try and catch the eye of one of the judges, Jim Gellatly, who is known as the voice of new music in Scotland,” said frontman Cameron Barnes.
However, they did that and more, with their army of fans behind them all the way.
“Levenmouth is great at looking after its own and we have brilliant fans,” said Cameron. “A whole bus load are coming to support us in Glasgow.”
