Two local women and a business owner in Leven have been lending their support in the run up to today’s (Wednesday) Armistice Day.

Margaret Herriot and Helen Scott both created their own poppy designs, which have been sold in businesses in the town, while Niki Rae-McIntosh sold poppy artwork in her town centre flower shop Red Petal Company. Last year, Margaret crocheted over 200 poppies, which were sold in Cummings for Help for Heroes. This year, she has had the support of Blacketyside and the Red Petal Company, which have sold her red (soldiers), purple (animals at war) and white (peace) designs in aid of Poppyscotland. Mrs Scott’s felt designs, which she has made for a number of years, have been sold in her nail shop in Leven with all monies donated to Erskine Home in Glasgow, which cares for ex-servicemen and women.
