The Coalfields Regeneration Trust (CRT) has given its backing to the Steering Group of the CoalfieldsCommunity Futures programme as they produced the action plan with the financial backing of£20,000 from the CRT.

A further £20,000 was given to the programme by the Levenmouth Area Committee.

The Action Plan includes suggestions such as having allotments, improving and maintaining the area’s cycle paths, upgrading the local park and finding a way to get better use of local facilities.

Among the local organisations expected at the launch are: Methil Sea Cadets, Levenmouth Foodbank, Arden House, Methilhill Community Children’s Initiative (MCCI), Expressions School of Dance and the Sailors Rest Gym.

Shirley Faichney, a member of the Steering Group behind the plans and leader at MCCI, is hopeful of a good turnout on the day.

“We hope as many people as possible turn up to get their copies of the Action Plan, hear from the groups who have received funding on what they plan to do, and hopefully learn how they can be involved in the whole process.”

Copies of the plan will be available for those that attend the launch, with the organisations that are being funded also in attendance to pass on information about their future plans.
