Lone woman attacked in Cupar street

A lone woman walking on Hill Crescent in Cupar was attacked by a man in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police Scotland Detective Sergeant Paul Dick said: “About 4am Saturday, September 20, a 37-year-old woman was walking alone on Hill Crescent, Cupar, when she was approached by a male who struck her on the body with an item he was carrying before striking her further a number of times.

“The male was last seen walking in the direction of West Port. The woman sustained minor injuries but was clearly shaken and upset by the incident.

“The male is described as 20-30 years old, 5ft 5in tall, brown hair and wearing a blue top and jeans.

“I would appeal to the public to contact us if they saw anyone or heard anything in the area about this time regardless of how insignificant they believe it may be.”
