Looking back: 1st A Glenrothes Brownies 1985

Glenrothes has a long and rich history of recreational and sports clubs when it comes to keeping youngsters active and entertained over the years.

In fact the town was designed with recreation and open spaces to encourage leisure and outdoor activities. No group has been more active than the guides and brownies.

The picture above shows the girls of the 1st A Glenrothes Brownies who won the Central division shield.

The pack, attached to St Margaret’s Church, took part in the annual competition along with 18 other packs from Glenrothes, Markinch, Thornton and Leslie.

Runners up were Markinch who had tied with the 1st A Brownies for first place the previous year.
