Looking Back: Aberdour 1977

This great aerial picture over Aberdour was taken in 1977.

It was the third and final picture in series of the golf course that the Fife free Press had been running at the time.

The golf course itself is only seen partially in this picture, appearing in the bottom right hand corner. Behind the bank of trees lies tennis courts and a recreation area.

On the right is the residential area near the harbour with Hawkcraig Point just beyond and at the top of the picture you get just a glimpse of the famous and award-winning Silver Sands.

The main coast road which runs through the village and the Edinburgh to Aberdeen railway line are both visible on the left.
