Looking Back: Lang Toun Carnival Committee's walk in Beveridge Park
It was a wet and dismal day in May 1973, but that didn't stop these hardy youngsters taking part in a charity walk.
More than 50 turned up - aged between eight and 19 - to participate in the event which was organised by the Lang Toun Carnival Committee.
Those taking part were sponsored from 1/2p to 20p per mile. The aim for the eight and nine was to do four laps of the park, a distance of around five miles.
The elder kids were aiming for 12 laps - equivalent to 15 miles.
£150 was raised which went towards buying specialist equipment for Victoria Hospital.
Do you recognise anyone who is taking part?!
