Looking back: Margaret Thatcher visits Cupar

This photograph takes us back to what were undoubtedly happier days for the Tories.

We’re not sure of the exact date, but we think it was the late 70s, just before Margaret Thatcher’s election as Prime Minister.

She’s seen here outside the Corn Exchange in Cupar with Barry Henderson, who was elected as Conservative MP for East Fife in 1979 and, four years later, won the new seat of North East Fife .

We’re not sure who the lady on Mrs Thatcher’s right is, but perhaps readers can enlighten us. Perhaps you were even there on the day?
