Looking back: Motorbike stunt show, Burntisland, 1985
The crowds were treated to quite the spectacle down on the Links in Burntisland back in August 1985.
The audience was wowed by the Army’s motorbike stunt group, the Blue Arrows Motorcycle Display Team, which visited the town to show off its skills. The high-flying riders leapt over the prostrate figures of their team-mates, jumped over obstacles and rode through firey hoops during the amazing display. The group, staffed by members of the Territorial Army and formed in 1969, specialises in performing hair-raising stunts and continues to perform at gala days up and down the country.
