Looking back: Saying goodbye to Mr Campbell 1974

They say '˜school days are the happiest days of our lives' and that was certainly true for at least one person at Markinch school.

After 12 years as headmaster at Markinch Primary School, Mr W. B. Campbell retired.

Popular with both pupils and parents, it was only right to give the hard working teacher a good send off.

And that’s what they did, with a fitting last day celebration in which he enjoyed two special ceremonies that had been prepared by pupils and staff as a show of their appreciation of his efforts over the years.
