Former director of East Neuk based Fence Records, Johnny Lynch, has launched the new record label Lost Map Records.

The musician, known better to many as The Pictish Trail, announced last month that, after 10 years, he would be closing the label and starting up a new venuture, with the Fence roster moving with him.

Among those on Lost Map are Kid Canaveral, Eagleowl, Randolph’s Leap and Seamus Fogarty.

Kenny Anderson, founder of the Fence Collective, had ‘retired’ from Fence Records at the end of last year and with Johnny now living in a caravan on the island of Eigg, he decided it was time for a new challenge. Johnny’s statement said: “All of a sudden there wasn’t much Fife in Fence, or much Fence in Fife”.

However, following the announcement, Kenny Anderson said the Fence label is continuing into its 20th year with renewed vigour. He said “Fence is alive and well” and will be relaunched in January.
