A pensioner had a lucky escape after he fell ill at the wheel of his car in Crossgate, Cupar, yesterday (Thursday) and collided with a lamppost and five parked cars.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police in Fife attended a road traffic collision on Crossgate, Cupar, after an 85-year-old driver apparently fell ill. His silver Vauxhall Meriva collided with a lamppost and five parked cars at around 9.30am this morning. No other person was injured.
“The driver has been taken to Adamson Hospital, Cupar; however his condition is not believed to be serious. The road was closed for over an hour before being re-opened.”
