Lundin Mill Primary School has proudly taken delivery of its fourth Green Flag, which is the top award in the Eco Award Scheme.

The venture is an international initiative, designed to encourage whole-school action on sustainable development education issues run by Keep Scotland Beautiful.

The eco committee at Pitcruvie Park has worked hard and led the school’s eco work focusing on litter reduction, energy saving and biodiversity.

The Lundin Links school has had great success with its annual John Muir Award, including a beach clean, its ‘One Planet Picnic’, encouraging sustainable eating, encouraging the family participation in Earth Hour and the creation, in partnership with Fife Council’s biodiversity group, of a school meadow. A spokesman said: “We are continuing with our eco work and hope for more success with increasing awareness of global sustainability in the future.”
