Man arrested after Leven rape probe

Police investigating the report of a serious sexual assault have made an arrest.

Forensics officers have been spotted near the putting green on Leven promenade after the report last night.

Police have now confirmed that a 37-year-old man has been arrested.

A police Scotland spokesman said: “Police in Fife are investigating a report that a 23-year-old woman was the victim of a serious sexual assault in the Leven Promenade area around 10pm on Thursday, February 8.

“A 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this and enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone who may have information which can help is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3871 of February 8.”
