A 35-year-old man has been arrested and charged with the theft of a metal horse from an address in High Street, Freuchie.

The galvanised sculpture of a Shetland pony, which weighs around 40kg and is worth around £1500, has also been recovered and reunited with its rightful owner.

The man is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Inspector Roy Giles said: “The owner is delighted to have the structure back home and we would like to thank the public for their assistance.

“Thanks to information provided by members of the local community, Police Scotland was able to ensure a successful outcome to this enquiry.”
