Man arrested over weapons and drugs offences

Police in Fife have made another arrest as part of the ongoing anti-violence initiative, Operation Path.

Officers responded to a report of a housebreaking in Haughgate Street, Leven at around 11.50pm on Wednesday 24th January, where a man was detained.

During a personal search police recovered a knife and hammer as well as a small quantity of cannabis.

The 33-year-old was schduled to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Thursday, January 25 charged with housebreaking, weapons and drug offences.

Sergeant Colette Mather from Levenmouth Police Station said: “The possession and use of weapons can be associated not only with violence, but other criminal offences and will not be tolerated.

“Operation Path continues to identify those responsible for crimes of violence and the possession of offensive weapons to bring them to justice.

“If you are found to be involved in such an offence you will be arrested and face prosecution.”
