Man charged after £16,000 of drugs found in Fife

A man has been arrested after a significant amount of Class A and B drugs were found during a house search in Fife.

Officers from the Fife Pro-Active Investigation Unit arrested the 26-year-old at an address on Martin Crescent, Ballingry on Friday, May 13.

A subsequent search recovered 1.2kg of amphetamine and 86g of cocaine worth an estimated street value of £16,000.

The man has been charged with offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act and will appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court today.

Detective Sergeant Mark Beveridge, of Fife Division Pro-Active Investigation Unit, said: “This action again demonstrates our commitment to tackling people involved in the supply of controlled drugs.

“It’s vitally important that we continue to listen to our communities and gather intelligence from the public, which helps us target serious and organised crime groups and drug dealing activity.

“The information enables us to carryout such action and helps reduce the harm that drugs misuse causes.
