Enquires are ongoing to trace two other males wanted in connection with the incident.

Community Sergeant Kenny Greig said: “Extensive enquiries were conducted by officers in an effort to trace the suspects as quickly as possible following what was a violent incident in our area.

“Thankfully, incidents like this are rare in Glenrothes and this robust and swift action sends out a clear message that acts such as this and other anti-social behaviour in our community will not be tolerated.

“I finally would like to thank the public for their continued support during our investigation and also other ongoing enquiries,”
