Man in court on murder charge

A man has appeared in court in connection with the murder of Kirkcaldy man Darren Adie.

The 42-year-old died in hospital after he was found injured on the town’s Tweed Avenue on Saturday, May 28.

Gordon Coventry (51), of Kirkcaldy, appeared in court yesterday (Friday).

Coventry faced a charge of murder on petition when he appeared in private at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

He made no plea or declaration.

The case was continued for further examination and he was remanded in custody.

Coventry is expected to appear in court again next week.
