The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were called to attend a single-vehicle road traffic collision on the B969 West Glenrothes to New Inn roundabout last night (8 November).

Operations Control Thornton received the call at 9.46pm and mobilised two crews from Glenrothes to the scene.

On arrival, firefighters worked to release the male occupant of the car and stabilise the vehicle which had went down an embankment. Crews used hydraulic cutting gear to remove the roof of the vehicle and safely remove the casualty.

The casualty was passed into the care of Scottish Ambulance Service and taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.
