Man injured in St Andrews still in coma

Suffering serious injuries following an incident on Sunday morning, Gerard Kelly, who was found in St Andrews Rose Lane, remains in a coma.

The 26-year-old’s family has released a statement through Police Scotland:

“Our family and Jen - Gerard’s girlfriend - would like to thank all our friends and family for their continued support.

“Thanks are also extended to the police and hospital staff for their continued efforts. “Messages of support are very much appreciated. We ask that you keep Gerry in your thoughts and prayers.”

The incident occurred at around 2am on Sunday, November 1. The man was taken to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, where he continues to be treated.

Enquires into how the man came about his injuries are ongoing, however early indications suggest that his injuries were sustained accidentally.

Police are still appealing for information regarding this incident.
