Man remanded over indecent images charge

A man was remanded in custody today (Friday) over allegations he downloaded indecent images of children.

Fraser Waddell, who is understood to be a private in the Army based in Leuchars, was arrested on Thursday over allegations he downloaded the images.

Waddell (21) of Larkhall, appeared from custody on petition at Dundee Sheriff Court facing a single charge under the Civic Government (Scotland) Act.

It alleged that he did take or make indecent photographs or psuedo-photographs of children.

He made no plea or declaration to the charges during a brief private hearing.

Sheriff Simon Collins QC continued the case for further examination and remanded Waddle in custody meantime.

He will appear in court for a further hearing next week.
