Police say they have traced a man following an appeal for witnesses to an attempted theft of a live 11,000 volt electrical cable.
On Monday, December 23, Police in the Levenmouth area issued an appeal for information after becoming very concerned for the safety of someone who may have been suffering burns or internal injuries, following an explosion at an electricity sub-station in Methil.
Following the incident, a number of houses suffered power cuts and businesses lost supply.
However, police have now confirmed they have traced a 53-year-old man in the Leven area in connection with the incident.
Inspector Donald Jenks, who led the investigation, said on Friday : “We received information from a member of the public and have now traced a man, who is suffering from a number of burns-related injuries.
“He is currently being taken to hospital and we will be interviewing him in connection with the incident when medical staff advise he is well enough to speak to us.
“I would like to thank the public for their co-operation and the information we were given.”
