Elie pharmacy manager Susan Penman is putting in a final fundraising sprint as the days count down to her debut in the London Marathon.
She is not a newcomer to marathons but it is her first London race and the excitement is mounting about taking part with more than 40,000 other runners, including sister Fiona Moore.

“But we won’t be running together - she’s faster than me,” said Susan (41), from Leven, who runs with Anster Haddies.
She is raising money for Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA), setting a £1000 target which she now hopes to double. The air ambulance is Davidsons Chemist’s nominated charity but Susan knows the value of the service to rural areas.
“We had a customer last year who was saved by SCAA, she was airlifted to Ninewells and was told she would not have survived if she’d been transferred by road,” she said.
