The body of a man found in Kinghorn on Monday is that of local pensioner William Binnie.
Police confirmed the identity of the body on Tuesday.
Mr Binnie (80), had been reported missing on Sunday after he was last seen at his home in the village on Saturday night.
Officers found his body in the harbour area at around 3.00 p.m. on Monday while officers were conducting a search for the missing man.
Police Scotland said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
