Motorcyclist dies in road collision in Fife

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road collision in Fife yesterday (Thursday).

The incident happened around 7.05pm on the A907 at Bogside, west of the Devilla Quarry.

A 31-year-old male motorcyclist sustained serious injuries when his bike was involved in a collision with a Ford Transit van.

Emergency services responded to the scene where the man was subsequently pronounced dead.

Road Policing Officers closed the road for approximately five and a half hours while they carried out an investigation at the scene.

Anyone who can assist police with their ongoing inquiries is asked to come forward.

Sergeant Derek Allan from the Road Policing Unit in Glenrothes said: “Tragically, this collision has resulted in the motorcyclist sustaining fatal injuries and we are now continuing with our investigation to establish the full circumstances of what took place.

“Anyone who was on the A907 on Thursday evening and witnessed the incident is asked to contact police immediately.”
