MOTORISTS will face significant disruption in Tayport and Newport from Monday as a three-week long programme of resurfacing work begins.
The improvement scheme by Fife Council transportation and environmental services, includes resurfacing on Tay Street, Newport, between James Street and the Tay Bridge steps.
It will also include resurfacing on William Street and Albert Street in Tayport between the Fairy Lane steps and Castle Street.
A temporary road closure will be in place for the duration of the works
Access for the emergency services will be maintained at all times, while access for residents and to businesses will be provided via a signed diversion route.
Newport will be accessible via the A92 and B995, and Tayport will be accessible via the A92, A914 and B945.
Several bus services will be affected including Moffat and Williamson’s bus service 92 and Stagecoach bus services 42, 96, 77, 77B, X42 and X54.

A free taxi shuttle service will be provided for passengers from Newport and Tayport who have difficulty getting to their connections.
Passengers may call the taxi shuttle service on 01382 550000 or 01382 554444 at least one hour in advance for free travel to their nearest interchange point.
Residents of Scotscraig may call the taxi service for travel to Tayport or the Tay Bridge car park for onward connections any time between 6am and 11.45pm.
