Motorists warned of roadworks on A92 next weekend

Resurfacing works are set to take place on the A92 next weekend.

The works at the Preston Roundabout in Glenrothes will start on Friday, April 8 for one weekend and will involve the resurfacing of the roundabout and the renewal of road markings.

The work is being carried out to address defects in the carriageway and to ensure that the road remains in a safe working condition for years to come.

A partial closure of the roundabout will be required for the safety of the workforce and motorists.

Access from the A911 approaches will be maintained via temporary traffic lights.

Trunk road traffic for the A92 will be diverted locally and signs will be erected in advance to advise motorists.

The restrictions will be in place from 7.30pm on Friday, April 8 until Monday, April 11 at 6.30am.

Traffic heading on the northbound approach to Preston Roundabout will be diverted via B921 and B969 where drivers can rejoin the A92 at Balfarg.

The southbound approach to Preston Roundabout will be via the B969 and B921 where vehicles can rejoin at Bankhead Roundabout.

The local council, businesses, emergency services and bus operators have been made aware of the traffic management arrangements to minimise any inconvenience.
