TRICIA Marwick, MSP for Mid Fife and Glenrothes, has praised local radio station Kingdom FM for changing its name to support cancer charity, Maggie’s Fife.

All last week, the radio station was known as Maggie’s FM.

The move was designed to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Maggie’s Fife and to raise money to allow the charity to continue its crucial work in the local area.

Mrs Marwick said: “Maggie’s FM is a simply wonderful idea and it is a fitting tribute to the fifth anniversary of Maggie’s Fife.

“This is the first time a radio station in Scotland has changed its name for charity and Kingdom FM deserve enormous credit for this kind gesture. Kingdom FM has a proud history of supporting local good causes and this is just another example of this.

“Everyone in Fife knows about the fantastic work by Maggie’s.

“It gives help and support at a time when people need it most.”
